Let's face it ... being a content creator can become monotonous and mundane at times. The constant struggle of trying to come up with unique and fun ways to keep not only your fan base and subscribers interested in your content, but also keeping your own head in the game so you can stay motivated to continue pushing the envelope. The one thing that I have found is a great way to not only keep the interest of your current subscribers, but also bring in lots of new ones is doing live shows on the regular. Sure, this can be challenging at first, but in the long run it pays off because it really gives your fans an inside look into your personality and truly lets you shine as a creator. Fans love being able to interact with creators in real time and doing live shows is a great way to do so. Whether you have done live shows before or have never done one, I came up with a few great ways for you to make your live shows fun, creative and interactive with your fans that experienced on (inexperienced) creators can benefit from.
1. Raffles Doing raffles will get your fans engaged and wanting to participate because there is a prize they can win in the end and who doesn't enjoy winning prizes? A great example would be: "$25 to enter for a chance to win a custom video". You run the entree a week or month prior (depending how long you want to run the raffle) and you draw the winner on your live. The custom video doesn't have to be anything crazy, it could be something as simple as you sending them a video thanking them personally for being a fan, entering the raffle, etc etc. However, throwing a raffle gives your fans something to look forward to when you do your next live show.
2. Games
Doing games such as "spin the wheel" while doing your live shows is a great way to get your fans involved and also a creative way to get the ball rolling for your live show. For example, a fan can tip $5 for an opportunity to spin the wheel and the prize could land on a 'boob flash' or 'remove an item of clothing'. You could also refer back to the raffle and give a fan the opportunity to enter the raffle for less than what you are charging for raffle entree by giving them an opportunity to spin for it.
3. Q&A Hold a Q & A to give your fans a chance to get to know you. This is a great way to build rapport and long term loyalty with your fans by giving them a chance to get to know things about you that they may or may not normally be able to have access to such information about you. Loyalty with fans gives longevity and longevity gives you a better chance at staying a creator for the long run.
4. Cross Promote Your Lives
Lastly, a great way to make your live shows fun, interactive and most importantly...bring traffic is to start your live shows on a different safe for work platform such as instagram where you can advertise that you will be transitioning over to a more naughtier version of your "live show" if they subscribe to your site. I suggest staying on your safe for work platform, answering questions and driving interest to your paid subscription platform by staying on the live for a minimum of 5-10 minutes. This will give people the opportunity to learn where they can find more of you!
As you can see, there is plenty of room to get creative when doing your live shows, however keep in mind the most important is to include your fans. The more interactive your live shows are, the better it is for your fan base and the more enjoyable it will be for them (and also for you!). If they enjoy your live shows, it gives them something to look forward to in the future and makes them excited for your next live. If they are having fun, they are also more likely to spend money by tipping. So, set yourself apart and start doing more live shows. This will certainly help you grow your subs and also your wallet!
Have fun!
