SMART Goals

Starting on a fan subscription platform can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. It’s one of the few industries that truly allows individual freedom to work from literally anywhere- as of right now I am writing this from a beach house in south america!- One of the keys to success is setting smart goals. Smart goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. In this blog, we will discuss how to set smart goals for your subscription platforms

Specific Goals

The first step in setting smart goals is to be specific about what you want to achieve. Instead of setting a goal like “increase sales,” be more specific, such as “increase online sales by 20% within the next six months.” This specific goal is easier to measure and helps you focus on what you want to achieve. Sales can mean Subscriptions, Videos, PPVs, Customs or include all of these things.

Measurable Goals

Measuring your progress is essential in achieving your goals. In the example above, increasing online sales by 20% is a measurable goal. You can track your sales using built in analytics tools to see if you are on track to achieving your goal. Most sites we work from have these tools already included with their platforms. Use these to determine which strategies are working and which are not. Adjust accordingly.

Achievable Goals

Setting achievable goals is important in maintaining momentum and morale. While it’s essential to set challenging goals, it’s equally important to set goals that are realistic and attainable. If your goal is too ambitious, you may become demotivated if you don’t achieve it. Increasing sales by 20% in 6 months is a good goal to set, tripling sales in the next 6 months sounds better, but is it really achievable with the time you have and the work you’re willing to put in? Keep it in the realm of possibilities.

Relevant Goals

Make sure your goals are relevant to your business. Consider your business’s current situation and your long-term goals. Setting goals that don’t align with your business strategy can lead to wasted time and resources. Dont set goals for number of physical items sales, when your best seller is PPVs. Keep it relevant to what you realistically can produce.

Time-Bound Goals

Set a deadline for achieving your goals. This helps you stay focused and ensures that you are making progress. In the example above, the goal is to increase online sales by 20% within the next six months. This time-bound goal helps you stay focused and accountable.

Example of a smart goal for a small business:

Increase monthly revenue by 15% within the next year by expanding your visibility on multiple platforms and increasing your online presence. This goal is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. It focuses on revenue growth, which is essential for success in our industry, and includes specific actions to achieve the goal.

In conclusion, setting smart goals for your subscription platforms is essential to your success. By following these tips, you can set achievable goals that align with your business strategy, track your progress, and stay focused. Remember to celebrate your successes along the way and make adjustments as needed to ensure you achieve your goals.
