Using TikTok

TikTok is one of the greatest platforms to promote content on, if done right. TikTok is set up in such a way that it is possible to go viral even if you only have a handful of followers. When I first joined TikTok in 2021, my first video went viral in a day. Today we’re going to cover some best practices for TikTok:

The Basics

Here are some best practices for TikTok:

  1. Keep it short and sweet: TikTok videos are limited to 3 minutes, but the ideal length is around 30-60 seconds. This is because attention spans are shorter on TikTok, and users prefer short and engaging content.

  2. Use trending hashtags: Using popular hashtags on TikTok can help increase the visibility of your content and reach a wider audience. Make sure to use relevant hashtags that are related to your content. Hashtags like FYP and For You have fallen out of popularity try to avoid using this one.

  3. Incorporate music and sounds: Music and sounds are a huge part of TikTok, and incorporating popular songs and sounds can help make your videos more engaging and shareable.

  4. Be creative: TikTok is all about creativity and originality. Try to come up with unique and creative ideas for your videos that will make them stand out from the crowd.

  5. Engage with your audience: Responding to comments and engaging with your audience can help build a loyal following and increase engagement on your TikTok account.

  6. Use high-quality visuals: While TikTok is known for its casual and fun content, it’s still important to use high-quality visuals in your videos to make them look professional and appealing.

  7. Post consistently: Posting consistently is key to building a following on TikTok. Try to post at least once a day or a few times a week to keep your audience engaged and interested in your content.

Try using tiktok as a way to promote but also be sure that you’re staying well within the community guidelines as TikTok has some of the strictest in terms of “nudity” and “solicitation” Its very easy to go viral on this platform, but it’s also very easy to get taken down with a little too much cleavage or the wrong caption.
